Outdoor Ed. 20/30 Students Embark on Memorable Canoe Trip

In June, Outdoor Ed. 20/30 students embarked on a canoe trip on the Churchill River near Missinipe, despite uncertainties due to sanctions. With quick organization and support from fundraising and a generous donation from the Parkland Wildlife Federation, the trip became possible, marking the first such adventure in northern Saskatchewan in years. Students gained valuable skills in gear management, fire starting, navigation, knot tying, and shelter building while paddling over 40 kilometers over three days. They created lasting memories and are already planning their next trip for spring. Special thanks were given to Colin Frey from Renewed by Nature, David from Modes of Adventure, and the supportive parents who helped navigate the planning challenges.
